Smart Phones Still Growth Factor in Austria
In a brief research note from GfK Retail and Technoligy, the research firm notes that despite the weak economic situation the market of multifunctional Smart Phones (multimedia, messaging, Internet, e-mail functions and GPS) continues to thrive in Austria.
New Touchscreen models are being sold at attractive prices; supported by ongoing product subsidies and are currently the most important market drivers.
Already every sixth mobile sold in the first half of 2009 had a Touchscreen and about every fifth had a GPS function.
