Kodiak Networks Wins Conference Call Service Contract from India's RCom
India's Reliance Communications has announced plans to launch a mobile conference service. The company has teamed up with push-to-talk vendor, Kodiak Networks, and will roll-out the mobile conferencing service on a nationwide basis across both its CDMA and GSM networks.
Reliance Communications' service enables it's customers to establish a conference call amongst a group of 9 contacts from the phone address book with a single click. Kodiak Networks will offer the solution through its IP packet based Real-time Exchange System. Through this tie-up Kodiak will enable Reliance to offer two key conferencing services Mobile Instant Conferencing and Mobile Scheduled Conferencing.
Commenting on the new service roll-out, Mr Krishna Durbha, Head - VAS, Reliance Communications said, "Our Mobile Conferencing service is a cost-effective, efficient and convenient solution that will prove to be a definite enabler for enhanced productivity to enterprises customers. Availability of Mobile Scheduled Conferencing for prepaid segment will lead to new revenue upsides for Reliance Communication."
The Mobile Instant Conferencing service will provide immediate dial-out mobile conferencing, including one-touch mobile call origination from the handset contact list.
The Mobile Scheduled Conferencing will allow users to schedule conference calls directly from their mobile handset. Convenient auto-SMS reminders are sent to attendees at the conference start time. Participants can join or rejoin the conference with a single click and are instantly auto-authenticated without PINs. All participants can see who is on the conference call.
