Rogers Wireless and MTS Allstream To Build HSPA Network in Manitoba
Canada's Rogers Wireless says that it has entered into a deal to build a HSPA network in Manitoba in cooperation with MTS Allstream with the rollout due to be completed in 2010. Rogers Wireless and MTS Allstream have also agreed to provide MTS Allstream with the opportunity to launch a national wireless business offering under the Allstream brand through a wholesale arrangement.
"Rogers is pleased to partner with MTS Allstream to expand next generation HSPA mobile voice and data services to our customers in Manitoba," said Rob Bruce, President, Rogers Wireless. "Our focus will always be on delivering the best for our customers in mobile networks, products and services as we lead innovation in wireless technology."
Rogers Wireless has established a roaming agreement with MTS, under which MTS' HSPA customers will roam exclusively on Rogers' mobile network - within Rogers' wireless service area across Canada - offering a nationwide service to their wireless customers outside the MTS coverage area.
The Agreements are subject to approval by the appropriate regulatory authorities.
