America Movil to Deploy Qualcomm's Widget Tools

Qualcomm has signed a deal with América Móvil to deploy its mobile widget platform across the mobile operators Latin American footprint. Qualcomm's Plaza Mobile Internet is an end-to-end widget platform that will allow América Móvil to provide its end users with access to customizable Internet content from mobile devices across their device portfolio.

Plaza Mobile Internet enables publishers to develop widgets using open Web standards and tools. Through this solution, publishers and content providers will be able to develop and submit their creations to América Móvil's widget catalog.

"We believe that providing end users with an easy way to extend their online lives to their mobile devices will help drive mobile Internet use and create additional revenue opportunities for América Móvil," said Noam Raffaelli, managing director of Plaza Mobile Internet. "Qualcomm is using its expertise building strong publisher and developer ecosystems to ensure that América Móvil can deliver targeted content to its subscribers throughout Latin America."
