Turkcell Selects Alcatel-Lucent for "All IP" 3G Transmission Network in Turkey

Turkish operator, Turkcell has ordered an IP/MPLS solution from Alcatel-Lucent to support its migration to an all-IP transmission network. The deployment is due to be completed in a few months.

No financial details were provided.

"The demand for higher bandwidth and interconnectivity is increasing at an extremely fast pace in our rapidly evolving communications marketplace. With the transformation into an "All IP" 3G network, which we believe is the first in Turkey, we will expand the capacity of our existing network to provide national coverage and meet our customer's demand for 3G services" said Bülent ELÖNÜ, the Transport Network Division Head of Turkcell.
