Huawei Sells 1.2 Million Mobile Broadband Modems to Telenor
Huawei says that it has inked a contract with Telenor Group to supply 1.2 million mobile broadband modems over the coming 12 months for Telenor's 13 operating companies. Earlier this month, Telenor has also signed a contract with ZTE for "up to" two million mobile broadband modems.
"We are delighted to further our cooperation with Telenor Group," said Mr. Jerry Wang, Head of Telenor Business Unit of Huawei. "Huawei can not only provide Telenor with the highest-quality modems but also fast response, flexible customisation and the best services to facilitate Telenor's business success."
According to the report from consulting firm ABI Research, Huawei secured a substantial 55% of the global mobile broadband terminal market. By the end of February 2009, Huawei had shipped over 30 million mobile broadband units, serving 235 operators in 115 countries and providing them with customisation solutions that match subscriber requirements.
