In a blog posting on their website, mobile video supplier, Qik said that it has closed another round of funding, comprised of investments from Quest Venture Partners, CampVentures, and strategic individuals. A total of US$5.5 million has been raised to continue Qik's growth.
They also announced the appointment of Marcus Ogawa to Qik's board of directors, and Justin Camp as a board observer.
The company enables users to stream live video from their mobile phones to the internet.
Marcus Ogawa of Quest Venture Partners has this to say about their investment in Qik: We as a society continue to ravenously consume engagement media. I feel strongly that mobile video is on the cusp of exploding into the mainstream. I believe Qik, with its support for many different mobile platforms and engagement options, is poised to lead this charge.
