Handset Recycler Expands Capacity
UK based mobile phone recycler, Mazuma says that it has created a new test workshop to accommodate the recycling of an additional 100,000 mobile phones per month at its warehouse in a North London business park.
"The UK mobile recycling market is still growing and we are expecting to double our intake of used mobile phones to 200,000 every month by the end of 2009," said Charlo Carabott, Managing Director at Mazuma. "Mazuma customers have always been assured that not only do they get the best trade in price for their old phone but their handsets are safely redistributed for reuse to developing countries via approved partners. We operate within extremely tight margins and firmly believe that only those that can process these sort of volumes, maintain prices and quality of service will be able to dominate in the current climate."
Mazuma Mobile processed 125,000 handsets and paid out £3.7 million to customers last month alone.
