WiMAX Network Launched in Malta

Maltese telco, Go says that it has launches an Alvarion supplied WiMAX network across the island. As an awarded licensee of the 3.5 GHz frequency band in Malta, Go Mobile is required by the Malta Communication Authority to complete network rollout and provide 99% nationwide coverage by October 2009.

Speaking about WiMAX, GO's Chief of Operations, Norbert Prihoda said: "GO prides in being market-leader for the provision of a total communications solution to its customers. The launch of WiMax proves that we are truly committed towards satisfying the modern-day telecom needs of our customers at large - even the most demanding. WiMax is a yet another addition to GO's ever-expanding range of top-notch services that run on cutting-edge technology."

Alvarion won the rollout contract last July.
