Israel Lowers Annual Cellular License Fees
The Israeli Knesset Finance Committee has announced that it is lowering the annual royalty payments, but widening the range of services on which the payments are made by telecoms service providers, including the cellular phone networks. The current rate of 8% is to be lowered to 5% and will fall to 3.5% by 2004. The new regulation amends the prior payment arrangements of royalties, which had been established under the Telecommunications Law of 1982."
