Innsbruck By-Pass Tunnel to Get GSM-R Coverage

Austrian firm, Kapsch CarrierCom has won a contract to provide wireless coverage in the 13km long Innsbruck by-pass tunnel - supporting both GSM-R, TETRA and an analogue wireless communication system.

"With the Innsbruck by-pass, GSM-R CarrierCom was successful in winning the second tender for the wireless tunnel communication system. With this success, we once again underline our leading position as a GSM-R system supplier in Austria. Our projects in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia have confirmed our enormous technical expertise internationally", explained Thomas Schöpf, Member of the GSM-R CarrierCom Board of Directors.

Kapsch CarrierCom will partner with Axell Wireless as the technology supplier, Frequenz Plus, among others, as the supplier of the leaky cable, as well as Alpine Energie as the installation company.

Kapsch CarrierCom, belonging to the Kapsch Group, specializes in voice and data communications solutions for fixed and mobile network providers.
