Malaysia's DiGi to Increase GSM Network Capacity
Malaysian mobile network operator, DiGi has awarded a contract to Nokia Siemens Networks to expand its GSM network in the densely populated Klang Valley region. The upgrade is expected to be completed in November 2009.
No financial details were provided.
Nokia Siemens Networks will also undertake the network optimization and project management, and over a three-year period, provide maintenance and further support services to improve network efficiency and enhance the quality of service.
The network operator is the smallest of the big-three operators, and figures from the Mobile World showed that the operator ended Q1 with 7.16 million customers, and a market share of around 26%.
