Hong Kong Operator Launches Visual Voicemail Service
Comverse has announced that 3 Hong Kong, the mobile operation of Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong, has launched Hong Kong's first visual voicemail service. Instead of dialing in for voice messages, users can see information about each voicemail in a message inbox, such as sender, time of call and message length and then click and listen to any message. Users also can delete and reply any message.
"Being the first operator in our market to provide visual voicemail on the iPhone3G extends our string of market firsts, which also includes launching the city's first 3G network," said Amy Lung, Chief Operating Officer – Mobile of Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong. "Comverse, the global market leader in visual voicemail, has supported us to bring a feature-rich solution to market quickly with satisfactory results. The user feedback has been strongly positive."
Visual Voicemail is part of the Comverse Voice HUB, a single platform for multiple voice-related services, such as next-generation voicemail, ringback tones, and call completion.
"Fast becoming the next-generation voicemail standard around the world, visual voicemail has huge mass market potential," said Urban Gillstrom, Group President of Global Sales at Comverse, the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications.
"Operators welcome the boost in user satisfaction," he said, "as well as the additional revenues generated through increased voicemail usage and premium service positioning."
