AT&T Announces Top Mobile Apps and Games of First Quarter

US network operator, AT&T has published a "top-10" chart of the top performing applications based on new sales from January through March, offering a closer look at what consumers are doing with their phones beyond talking, texting and tweeting.

As reported in AT&T's first-quarter earnings, wireless data revenues for the company grew 39 percent year-over-year. A key contributor to this growth is use of mobile applications and games, many of which are available via AT&T MEdia Mall, AT&T's multimedia content store.

"Mobile applications help customers customize their handsets and better utilize the capabilities of their devices," said Mark Collins, vice president of Voice and Data Products for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. "Whether our customers want to stay connected to their favorite sources for entertainment or have 24/7 access to information, we offer apps relevant to the task."

The 10 top performing apps of the first quarter were:

  1. AT&T Navigator - a GPS location based service.
  2. AT&T Mobile TV.
  3. Napster Mobile.
  4. XM Radio Mobile.
  5. MobiTV.
  6. WikiMobile.
  7. Shazam (MusicID).
  8. Make-UR-Tones - ringtone application.
  9. My-Cast Weather.
  10. MobiVJ - music application.

The top 10 performing games for the quarter included:

  1. Tetris..
  2. Bejeweled.
  3. Guitar Hero World Tour Mobile.
  4. PAC-MAN by Namco.
  5. Ms. PAC-MAN by Namco.
  6. Jewel Quest II.
  7. Diner Dash.
  8. The Oregon Trail.
  9. Midnight Pool 2.
  10. Platinum Sudoku.

In addition to mobile apps and games, there are more than 90,000 pieces of content available in the AT&T MEdia Mall, including ringtones, graphics and more.
