Serbia's Vip Mobile Passes 1 Million Subscriber Mark

The Telekom Austria Group has announced that Vip Mobile, its Serbian mobile subsidiary has reached the 1 million subscriber mark only 20 months after the start of its operations.

Based on figures from the Mobile World subscriber tracker, at the end of last year, Vip Mobile had 907,000 subscribers, which represented a market share of around 9.4%. The country itself had an estimated 9.7 million customers and a population penetration level of 120%.

Vip mobile is the third Serbian mobile network operator, and is the Vodafone Partner Network in Serbia. Currently, they have assigned national roaming with Telekom Srbija (MTS) and they are in the process of setup of their own base stations.
