Zed Sets Up Indian Mobile Content Joint Venture

Indian mobile services provider, Tanla Mobile has set up a mobile content joint venture with Zed to focus on the development of mobile products and services for the growing mobile subscribers in India.

Referring to the JV, Javier Pérez Dolset, President and CEO of Zed Worldwide, highlighted the important step for Zed's world leadership to start operating in India, the second largest market by mobile subscribers with a huge potential. Pérez Dolset commented, "We are both enthusiastic and confident to transfer to India our know-how and expertise in the mobile value added services industry across 54 countries. Joining with a specialist in mobile applications, and technological leader such as Tanla, is great news and absolutely consistent with our expansion strategy".

Through the joint venture, Zed will offer its experience and marketing reach, while Tanla will provide the technology and platform.

The MVAS market in India is estimated to grow to US$4 billion by 2010, becoming one of the largest in the world.
