Dominican Operator Enables International Top-Ups

Dominican Republic based mobile operator, Trilogy Dominicana (trading as Viva), and mobile payments vendor, MoreMagic Solutions have announced that MoreMagic Solutions is now offering international recharge for mobile phone customers using the MoreMagic Solutions distribution network. The electronic recharge service enables friends and family living in other countries to recharge or TopUp, the mobile phones of Viva customers.

At any retail location in the MoreMagic Solutions distribution network, a store owner performs the transaction, and the mobile customer back in the Dominican Republic is immediately credited.

"In the Dominican Republic, our customers and dealers are finding it easy to TopUp phones with increasing frequency, and business has expanded dramatically with the MoreMagic MTopUp solution," said Jean Carlo Sandy, General Manager of Trilogy Dominicana. "With international recharge, and MoreMagic Solutions distribution, we have the ability to bring the Viva brand to numerous markets around the world where Dominicans reside."

Based on figures from the Mobile World subscriber tracker, Trilogy Dominicana ended last September with an estimated 655,000 customers - representing a local market share of just under 10%.
