Qtel Chooses Ditech Networks’ Voice Quality Equipment

Qatar Teleco (Qtel) is seeking to improve voice call quality by deploying Ditech's Voice Quality Assurance (VQA) and Experience Intelligence (EXi) applications on its Quad Voice Processor (QVP) platform throughout its mobile network.

Ditech's VQA mitigates voice quality problems, including acoustic echo and background noise such as honking from busy streets or wind sounds, before it even reaches the caller's ear. All of these impairments, which are inherent aspects of mobile phone use, can make it difficult to conduct a productive conversation.

Khalil Al-Emadi, Executive Director, Networks at Qtel, said: "Qtel continues to invest in the network technology and infrastructure that provides the best possible standard of services for our customers. In deploying this new voice quality solution from Ditech, we are ensuring that the voice quality of mobile phone calls in Qatar is of the highest clarity and reliability for our corporate and consumer customers."

Ditech's EXi non-intrusively monitors and measures users' live phone calls to assess the quality of speech experienced by both callers. Working in tandem, these applications can be configured differently based on Qtel's needs, allowing for maximum flexibility in pinpointing, assessing, and solving voice quality issues.
