Sitronics To Supply Convergent Services Platform to MTS Uzbekistan

Russia's Sitronics has signed a two year agreement with MTS Uzbekistan, a daughter company of Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) to supply a MEDIO IN/OCS convergent services platform, for a total consideration of more than US$18 million.

Sitronics will commence the construction of the new platform for MTS Uzbekistan during the first quarter of 2009, and expects the project to be completed in March 2010.

The transition to a new convergent services platform will allow MTS Uzbekistan to introduce a scalable billing solution, which will support the growth of the subscriber base to up to 10 million customers.

Pavel Pavlovsky, Vice-President of Sitronics and Head of Sitronics' Telecommunications Solutions Division, commented: "The agreement is a fundamental step in the further development of our business and relationship with MTS, and serves as an excellent example of cooperation between our two companies. MTS Uzbekistan has already deployed the FORIS OSS billing system. The MEDIO IN/OCS is the first automated billing system of this scale to be introduced with one of the largest mobile operators in Central Asia. The system will allow MTS Uzbekistan to increase its competitive advantages, and will provide its customers with a single access point to all services within the MTS network."
