Amdocs Deploys Billing Platform in Armenia

VimpelCom and Amdocs have announced the deployment of a Amdocs solution incorporating billing, customer management and self-service capabilities at VimpelCom's wholly-owned subsidiary in Armenia - ArmenTel. The Amdocs software replaced several legacy systems and provides ArmenTel with convergent support across wireless and wireline voice and data offerings.

"The launch of the Amdocs solution is an important step in our development in Armenia," said Dmitry Pleskonos, executive vice president, Business Development in the CIS, VimpelCom. "ArmenTel was able to leverage VimpelCom's past investments in the Amdocs software for a low-cost and low-risk deployment. In addition, ArmenTel will be able to offer the service excellence and the superior customer experience so deeply identified with the Beeline brand and set itself apart from its competitors."

The Amdocs solution empowers ArmenTel's customer service and sales representatives with a single customer view, helping to reduce call handling time. It also enables ArmenTel's customers with ubiquitous control over their accounts through self-service capabilities. This will allow ArmenTel to dramatically improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs associated with customer service.

Figures from the Mobile World show that the country ended Q3 '08 with a shade under 3 million subscribers - representing a population penetration level of 72%.
