Comptel Wins Greek Number Portability Contract

Published on: 3rd December 2008

Greek operator WIND Hellas has selected Comptel to provide a Provisioning and Activation Solution, as well as Mobile Number Portability (MNP) functionality. This deal follows the announcements in 2007 of Comptel being chosen as preferred supplier by Orascom Telecom, which is controlled by Weather Investments - the owner of WIND Hellas.

Mr. Nicolas Costaras, WIND Hellas CIO, says: "In a market like ours, we need to be able to anticipate and respond to customer needs very rapidly. Whether it's delivering existing services to new customers, or launching new services, we need OSS solutions that are flexible enough to achieve the best possible time-to-market. We chose Comptel because we knew their solutions would meet that requirement. Comptel's existing collaboration with Orascom was clearly also very helpful for us."

Comptel Provisioning and Activation Solution automates the provisioning and activation processes. With a single interface, it covers the entire workflow - from service order to start of billing. At WIND Hellas, the solution is used not only for provisioning and activation, but also to manage mobile number portability. The whole project was delivered in just 4 months.

Mr. Simo Sƒ¤ƒ¤skilahti, Comptel's Senior Vice President Products and Solutions, concludes: "We are pleased to have been selected by WIND Hellas. We are also very proud that we managed to live up to their high expectations by delivering the project in a short time-frame, a good illustration of Comptel's time-to-market and reliable delivery promises"
