Nokia's Chief Technology Officer Resigns
It has been announced that Nokia's Chief Technology Officer, Bob Iannucci has resigned with immediate effect, for personal reasons. He will however continue to work as a consultant to the company until a new CTO is appointed.
Iannucci joined Nokia in 2004 as Head of Nokia Research Center's Computing Architectures Laboratory. Before joining Nokia, he held a variety of research and development management positions at Cosine Communications, Compaq, Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), Exa Corporation, and IBM.
Henry Tirri, currently a Research Fellow at the Nokia Research Center has been appointed as the interim head of the division.
The Nokia Research Center participates in the standardization work and various international R&D projects in cooperation with universities and research institutes. Looking beyond current product development, the Research Center challenges current strategies and drives Nokia's renewal through long-term technology exploration. Nokia Research Center employs 1,200 people and has activities in Finland, USA, Germany, Hungary, China and Japan.
