Singapore's First Post-and Prepaid Dual SIM Solution in a Single Handset
Singapore mobile operator MobileOne (M1) says that it will offer its customers the convenience of seamless dual SIM access in a single handset when it introduces M1 DuoSIM tomorrow.
The first to be launched in Singapore, M1 DuoSIM will be available on the postpaid plan or as a prepaid card. Customers of other local and foreign operators will be able to use the M1 DuoSIM together with their existing SIM card in the same handset.
M1 DuoSIM is a paper-thin SIM card that is mounted on the customerÃ's existing SIM card and inserted into the same SIM card slot in the customerÃ's handset. With M1 DuoSIM, customers can separate their personal and business calls by switching between lines instead of carrying two handsets.
"With the mobile phone penetration rate in Singapore at well over the 100% mark, we believe the convenience of the M1 DuoSIM will greatly appeal to the many mobile users who for various business and social reasons find it necessary to subscribe to multiple lines. The ability of the M1 DuoSIM to be put in the same mobile device as another operatorÃ's SIM card will now make it even more attractive for them to do so," said P Subramaniam, M1Ã's Chief Marketing Officer.
Customers will also get free mobile subscription for three months when they sign up for M1 DuoSIM on any of the M1 postpaid plans - SunSaver, SunSaver Plus, and SunShare plans - before 31 October 2008.
