Radcom Wins Chinese Softswitch Troubleshooting Contract
Radcom has announced that an unnamed Chinese mobile operator has selected it to troubleshoot Softswitching on its core network. At the beginning of this year, Radcom announced that it had extended the capability of its monitoring and troubleshooting solution, which already provides operators with full end-to-end monitoring of their core network, to include Softswitch monitoring.
This sale marks the first success for Radcom in the new technology.
Softswitching solutions are being deployed to deliver over-IP connectivity between service providers and even between different large sites within the same operator's network. Based on IP, this service is highly sensitive and its load is enormous. With Cellular operators' revenue dependent on the ability to provide smooth inter- and intra-connectivity, Radcom's solution allows them to extend their GSM, UMTS or CDMA network view to assure quality of service in the Softswitch domains.
"We are very proud to have closed our first Softswitch deal," said Eyal Harari, Radcom's VP Products and Marketing. "We consider the operator's selection, made after intensive trials, to be an important one, reflecting our successful penetration into emerging markets with our solution's multi-technology advantages."
