PARIS -(Dow Jones)- French telecommunications regulator Arcep said Thursday it is opening a public consultation on wholesale termination rates, or the fees mobile phone companies charge each other to connect calls.
The consultation period will run until Oct. 6, Arcep said.
The results will be used to fix new ceilings for rates, which will be applied from July 1, 2009 in mainland France.
The three main network operators in France are France Telecom's Orange brand, Bouygues's Bouygues Telecom and Vivendi's SFR.
