Indian ISP Signs CDMA Reseller Deal with MTNL
Indian internet service provider, IOL Netcom says that it has signed a reseller deal with state controlled Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) to provide CDMA mobile services.
In a statement, the company said: "IOL Netcom announces it has entered into a CDMA franchisee agreement with MTNL as a lead consortium partner to provide CDMA mobile services in India's two largest cities Mumbai and Delhi which have the highest tele-density and growth,"
The company aims to launch services within the next three months.
The service can't be a full MVNO as such services were confirmed as illegal when Virgin Mobile attempted to set up such a service earlier this year.
The combined average revenue per user is expected to be over Rs.450 per month with a targeted base of over one million in the next few months, the company concluded.
