Germany's E-Plus Doesn't See Itself As a Takeover Target - CEO

FRANKFURT -(Dow Jones)- Dutch Royal KPN's German unit, E-Plus, doesn't consider itself as a takeover target, E-Plus Chief Executive Thorsten Dirks said Sunday.

"It would only make sense for Telefonica," said Dirks, adding the company is in neither negotiations nor has it been approached.

"I don't believe, that Telefonica will buy E-Plus," Dirks said.

E-Plus is the third largest mobile operator in Germany behind Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone's German subsidiary but ahead of O2, owned by Telefonica.

Dirks also said that E-Plus isn't considering any major acquisitions.
