FRANKFURT (Dow Jones)--Deutsche Telekom confirmed Sunday that it's considering closing some call-centers, a spokesman said.

Magazine Focus reports the incumbent German telecom operator plans to close every second call centers because call centers with 400 to 900 employees are cost-efficient.

The Deutsche Telekom spokesman said the company will unveil its call center plans next week but added every affected employee would be offered a replacement position.
