Austria: Good Smart Phone Growth Jan-July 2008

A study from research firm, GfK has found that the Austrian smartphones market continued its' good performance in the first half of 2008; against the general trend in the Mobile Phone market. New attractive models with multimedia functions offer a combination of pure working tools and a trendy fashion gadget.

In addition to this, operators are locking customers with subsidised Smart Phones, as the user group of these models is of great interest to them (e.g. because of data traffic).

More than the half of the sales volume dropped below the 200 Euros level and in June a significant amount even below the 100 Euros level.
