Polish Operator Licenses the Orange Brandname
Polish network operator, Telekomunikacja Polska has inked a deal with its largest shareholder, France Telecom to use the Orange brandname for the next ten years for its TV and internet services. The company already uses the Orange brand for its mobile network.
In a statement, TPSA said that it will pay a license fee of 1.6 percent of operating revenues earned using the Orange brand and has an option to renew the agreement when it expires.
France Telecom owns 48.6 percent of TPSA.
According to figures from the Mobile World database, TPSA holds around 31% of the market based on figures from the end of the first quarter.
Speaking in an interview last month, Chief Executive Maciej Witucki said that the company is actively seeking to acquire an overseas telecoms operator.
