Mobile Advertising Reaches Mongolia

Celltick has signed an exclusive deal with Mongolia's Mobicom to provide itÃ's LiveScreen Media platform - which is used to broadcast content to mobile phonesÃ' idle screens using cell broadcast technology. MobicomÃ's subscribers will receive message teasers with an click-through process enabling them to access further information.

The teasers will arrive on the handsetÃ's idle screen, creating a simple and non-intrusive communication channel.

MobicomÃ's CEO, Gansukh Burendorj, comments: "Our mission is to stay one step ahead of the market and to employ the most innovative emerging technologies to create new value for our customers. With LiveScreen Media our subscribers will be able to receive and access up-to-date informative and entertaining content on their mobile phones."

Stephen Dunford, CEO of Celltick, adds: "We have a strong presence in the APAC region, including Thailand, India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam, and the recent deal in Mongolia represents our growing presence in the area. We are looking forward to building our relationship with Mobicom and helping them explore the potential of mobile marketing in a new and effective way through the use of LiveScreen Media."

According to figures from the Mobile World database, Mobicom is estimated to have ended Q1 '08 with some 816,000 subscribers - representing a market share of 63%. The country has four mobile operators and a population penetration level of around 45%.
