Mobile Advertising Reaches Mongolia

Celltick has signed an exclusive deal with Mongolia's Mobicom to provide it's LiveScreen Media platform which is used to broadcast content to mobile phones' idle screens using cell broadcast technology. Mobicom's subscribers will receive message teasers with an click through process enabling them to access further information.
The teasers will arrive on the handset's idle screen, creating a simple and non-intrusive communication channel.
Mobicom's CEO, Gansukh Burendorj, comments: "Our mission is to stay one step ahead of the market and to employ the most innovative emerging technologies to create new value for our customers. With LiveScreen Media our subscribers will be able to receive and access up-to-date informative and entertaining content on their mobile phones."

According to figures from the Mobile World database, Mobicom is estimated to have ended Q1 '08 with some 816,000 subscribers - representing a market share of 63%. The country has four mobile operators and a population penetration level of around 45%.
