Qualcomm Named As Top Indian Teleco Employer
Qualcomm has been names as the top telecoms company in the "Best Workplaces 2008" study conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute in association with The Economic Times newspaper. The company also had the distinction of being ranked at the 12th position across all of the study sectors. The same study last year had ranked Qualcomm at 21st position.
This year's survey covered 200 participating companies and 36,000 employees. The study uses a employee-centric methodology and measures trust, pride and camaraderie prevalent in the organization.
"To be ranked at number 12.overall, and number one in the telecommunications sector, is a great honor for Qualcomm India," said Kanwalinder Singh, president of Qualcomm India and South Asia. "I believe our people and our employee focus form the foundation of our Company. Success in global business, with global talent, while preserving our unique culture puts Qualcomm ahead of its industry peers."
"Qualcomm India employees are valued members of our overall ecosystem and they work on breakthrough wireless communication technologies for our global initiatives," Said Daaman Hejmadi, senior director of Engineering for Qualcomm Bangalore R&D center. "Our recognition in the ‘Best Workplaces' stems from a foundation of open communication, employee-friendly policies and active senior management stewardship."
Qualcomm has offices in India at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi.
