Brazil Govt Seeks to Break Telecom Regulator Impasse on Merger

Brazil's government is considering naming a temporary substitute councilor at telecommunications watchdog Anatel to break a deadlock that is delaying the creation of new telecommunications rules necessary for the merger of Tele Norte Leste Participacoes, or Oi, and Brasil Telecom Participacoes, Communications Minister Helio Costa said Wednesday.
