Hutchison Telecom Names a New Chief Financial Officer

Hutchison Telecom has announced that Mr Tim Pennington has given notice of his resignation as Chief Financial Officer and will step down at the end of August to return to the UK.

The company named Chris Foll to succeed Mr Pennington as the company's Chief Financial Officer. Chris was the Chief Financial Officer for the Hutchison Essar India operations for seven years until taking over the Chief Operating Officer position in Hutch's Vietnam operations last September.

Pennington also helped oversee Hutchison Telecom's $10.7 billion sale of a controlling stake in Hutchison Essar to Vodafone - although that is currently mired in a tax dispute with the Indian authorities.

Mr Dennis Lui, Chief Executive Officer of Hutchison Telecom said: "Tim has decided to return to the UK after more than four years, during which he made a major contribution to Hutchison Telecom's success. We thank him for the excellent financial leadership he provided and for his valuable contribution to our management team. We wish him success in his future endeavours."
