China Unicom Adds 1.50 Million Users in April Vs 1.63 Million in March
HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- China Unicom said Monday it added 1.50 million customers in April, down from 1.63 million new users in March.
The additions brought the company's total number of customers to 168.53 million at the end of last month, up from 167.04 million at the end of March.
The company is the smaller of China's two mobile operators in terms of subscribers. China Mobile Ltd. is the country's largest mobile operator.
China Unicom added 1.21 million subscribers to its GSM network in April, boosting its total GSM users to 125.43 million from 124.23 million at the end of March. In March, it added 1.32 million GSM subscribers.
Subscribers to the company's CDMA network totaled 43.10 million at the end of April, up 289,000from 42.81 million in March. It added 301,000 CDMA subscribers in March.
