China Unicom: Not Interested in Buying Assets Overseas
HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- China Unicom Chairman Chang Xiaobing said Friday the company plans to focus on the China market and isn't interested in buying assets overseas.
The executive also said that while the company hasn't received official notice from the government about a restructuring of China's telecommunications sector, he expects details of the restructuring plan to be disclosed soon.
"I think we won't have to wait too long and we are closer and closer" to the announcement date, he said.
Chang was speaking at the company's annual shareholders' meeting in Hong Kong.
