New Ceo for Vodafone Czech Republic

Muriel Anton, Vodafone CZ Vice President for Finance, is to become the new CEO of Vodafone Czech Republic with effect from 1st June 2008 and thus replace the current CEO, Grahame Maher, who is to take up the position of the founding CEO of Vodafone Qatar. The position of Chief Finance Officer will be filled on an interim basis by Patricia Haws, Vodafone CZ Finance Director. "I am delighted that Muriel has been appointed as my successor, which is a well deserved promotion and I am confident Vodafone CZ will continue to perform very well under her leadership," said Maher.

Muriel Anton joined Vodafone (then Oskar) as Vice President for Finance in 2000. As a member of the Company 's top management team she was influential in the launch of the third mobile operator in the Czech market, its rise as one of the fastest growing third operators in Europe as well as its eventual sale to Vodafone Group.

Grahame Maher became Vodafone CZ CEO in February 2006.

For continuity, Maher will continue as Chairman in Vodafone CZ till the year end to provide continued guidance and support during this time of transition.

In Qatar, Grahame Maher will lead Vodafone Group’s first green field mobile start up for several years. Grahame will build on his extensive experience in CEO positions in the Czech Republic, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand. Vodafone Qatar will launch its services in the latter part of 2008.
