Huawei Wins Managed Services Deal in Saudi Arabia

Huawei announced today that it has been selected by Saudi Arabia's Mobily as its managed services partner under a three-year multi-vendor agreement. Under the agreement, Huawei will be responsible for network operations, back office, field operations, network optimization and spare parts management. Additionally, Huawei will be maintaining multi-vendor telecom equipment and acting on behalf of Mobily to manage multi-vendor spare parts and 3rd level support.

"Huawei is proud to be chosen by Mobily as its managed services partner," said Liu Peng, vice president Middle East for Delivery & Service. "Our support will further allow Mobily become more market-focused and customer-oriented through service innovation, as well as help Mobily's time to market for such new services."

Mobily (Etihad Etisalat) is the country's second GSM network operator, and according to data from the Mobile World, ended last year with around 7.3 million subscribers and a market share of 31%. Population penetration levels in the country are currently running at around 83%.
