JAKARTA -(Dow Jones)- PT Indonesia Satellite said Monday its 2007 net profit rose 45% due to an increase in revenue. Net profit for the 12 months ended Dec. 31 rose to IDR2.04 trillion from IDR1.41 trillion a year earlier.
The net profit figure was above the IDR1.89 trillion average estimate of five analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires.
The nation's second-largest cellular operator by subscribers and assets said total operating revenue rose 35% to IDR16.49 trillion from IDR12.24 trillion a year earlier.
Its cellular services contributed 77.3% to the company's total revenue, the company said, adding that other services such as multimedia and fixed line also grew better than a year earlier.
Indosat will hold a press conference at 0400 GMT to explain the 2007 result.
Assets as of Dec. 31 were IDR45.30 trillion, compared with IDR34.23 trillion a year earlier.
