Motorola Wins Vas Contract with China Unicom

Motorola has signed a contract with Shanghai Branch of China Unicom for a Value-Added Service Platform (VASP) using its GAMA (Global Applications Management Architecture) Service Delivery Platform (SDP).

As part of the contract, Motorola will provide servers, network equipment and GAMA software customized for Shanghai Unicom. Motorola Global Services professionals will support the modification of its legacy systems such as content downloading system, WAP and LBS (Location Based Service) platforms and the integration of VASP with Shanghai Unicom's existing network environment and its BSS (Business Support Systems).

"As a comprehensive services delivery and management platform, GAMA allows Shanghai Unicom to launch new services over their existing devices and network which can then be easily adapted for future upgrades," said T.K. Ng, general manager of Motorola Global Services, Motorola China Home & Networks Mobility, "We are honored to provide GAMA to Shanghai Unicom. This contract reinforces Motorola's leading position in China market."
