A Chinese woman set fire to over 400 mobile phones belonging to her husband after he walked out on their marriage. The state owned Xinhua news agency said the 37 year old woman was later arrested for arson.

The couple had run a mobile phone retail outlet in Weifang, the eastern province of Shandong - but the relationship ended last week following months of bitter arguments

The report said Wang was overcome with despair and gathered their entire new stock of phones - valued at more than 300,000 yuan ($42,000) - on the bed, poured kerosene on them and set them alight, before leaving the home too.

Neighbors who saw smoke coming from the house called firefighters, who extinguished the blaze.
