Huawei Wins Chinese CDMA Network Contract

Huawei has announced that it has been recently selected by China Unicom to deploy and upgrade its CDMA network involving more than 1600 carrier frequencies. The network covers Tianjin City in North China.

Under the agreement, Huawei will deliver an end-to-end All IP solution including radio access equipment and core network. It will also support the smooth evolution to CDMA 1x EV DO.

"We are glad to support China Unicom in upgrading its CDMA network in Tianjin," said Mr. Yu Cheng Dong, president of Huawei's Wireless Product Line. "The signing of the contract represents a strengthening of the strategic partnership between China Unicom and Huawei. Given to our advanced end-to-end solution and fast roll-out, Huawei will help improve our customers' network value for their increasingly rapid telecom network development."

Tianjin is the cooperation city of 2008 Olympic Games.
