Harris Stratex Networks Expands Sri Lanka Supply Contract

Harris Stratex Networks has announced a multimillion dollar contract with Dialog Telekom Sri Lanka for the supply of Eclipse nodal wireless transmission equipment. Utilizing the Eclipse platform's unique Super-PDH and XPIC technologies, Dialog has fully optimized the available radio spectrum, with up to two and a half times the typical payload transported over a single radio channel.

As an Eclipse customer for more than three years, Dialog Telekom was quick to embrace Eclipse's proven ability to optimize network capacity and performance and increase capacity where and when required with minimal cost and operational impact.

"The Eclipse wireless platform perfectly meets our requirements for a scalable and high performance transmission radio," stated Rosman Mat Ali, Group CTO of Dialog Telekom. "With this expansion, many more areas in our networks will benefit from better coverage, along with superior quality of service. Furthermore, Harris Stratex transmission equipment will play a significant role in the delivery of new 3G services across the country."

"In Sri Lanka, Dialog Telekom was the first user of our advanced Eclipse technology in their network," stated Raj Kumar, vice president, Asia Pacific Sales and Services, Harris Stratex Networks. "We are excited that our partnership with Dialog Telekom continues and that they have once again chosen Eclipse to implement their core backbone network. This again demonstrates that Eclipse provides a market-leading solution for the wireless transport of voice and data with scalable capacity and quality of service controls."
