CDMA Coverage to Be Expanded in Afghanistan
Afghanistan's Ministry of Communications and IT intends to extend the current CDMA network in Provinces said H. E. Eng. Barialay Hassam Deputy Minister Technical. The Ministry has signed four contracts at a total cost of US$10 million with four private local and International telecom companies.
This project will extend and better equip the current CDMA network in Provinces including establishing towers, shelters, purchasing diesel generators for BTSs, BSC, and PDSN and for Microwave in less than a year.
According to authorities of Ministry of Communications and IT, the project will extend and equip the CDMA network in Jalalabad, Kunduz, Khost, Daikundi, Punjshir, Parwan, Hirat, Kandahar, Balkh, Badakhshan, Hilmand, Juzjan, Ghazni, Paktya and Faryab and so on.
Finally, the contracts were signed among Deputy Minister Barialay Hassam and Telecom Private Companies such as Huawei, ZTE, Tamas Telecom and RM. ASIA.
The project will be accomplished within one year and the fund will be provided from the developmental budget of Ministry of Communications and IT.
