Union Calls for 6.5% Pay Rise for T-Mobile Staff
The German services union, Verdi is pushing for a 6.5% pay raise for around 6,000 staff at T-Mobile, the union said in a statement over the weekend. The union says that its request is justified by the country's inflation rate which averaged around three percent over the past year.
"Whoever wants to pay shareholders a dividend that is more than 8 percent higher also has enough money for the workforce," Verdi wage negotiator Ado Wilhelm said in a statement.
T-Mobile's existing wage contract expired at the end of last year.
