Casio Shows off Waterproof Cameraphone

Casio has shown off a waterproof cameraphone aimed at the Japanese market. The Casio W61CA is a CDMA1X based clampshell handset which also comes with a 5.1 megapixel camera which includes blur-reduction software.

The waterproof aspect is designed to meet the IPX7 waterproof standards. The IPX7 designation means the phone can withstand accidental immersion in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

The handset also includes other sporty features, namely a timer, distance measurement and calorie counter. The 100MB internal memory can be augmented with the MicroSD slot. Mobilr TV services are supported by the inclusion of DMB-TV.

The phone will be offered by KDDI on its au network.
