Nokia Launches 3G Compliant Location Based Solution

Nokia today launched the world's first industry standardized Enhanced Observed Time Difference (E-OTD) location technology. The Nokia E-OTD solution supports all location applications segments, including emergency service callers, commercial location-based services and operator services. Nokia's E-OTD technology is a 3GPP standardized solution for use within 3G networks and in November 2000, Nokia signed its first commercial agreement for the delivery of E-OTD technology to AT&T Wireless in the USA. Nokia mPosition Solution supports various location methods such as Cell ID based location method, E-OTD and in the future Assisted Global Positioning System (A-GPS)."
