HiQ Signs Agreement with Swedish Regulator

The IT consultancy, HiQ and the Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) have signed a new framework agreement. The agreement covers various types of studies and analyses in the communications field, and can be extended for up to three years.

"We have been working with PTS for nearly a decade, for example on the evaluation of UMTS applications, 3G measurements for operators, analysis of number plans and studies relating to 3G network expansion. Advances in the telecom field continue at a record pace. PTS is working on key issues of major importance to us all, as they ultimately have to do with determining the commercial and technical conditions under which the players in the market will be operating," says Bo Ringdahl, MD of HiQ Stockholm.

Under the new framework agreement, HiQ will conduct technical studies relating to services for fixed and wireless networks, radio and television distribution, Internet services and number-planning issues. The agreement also covers future and scenario analyses, as well as business and market-related studies in connection with number planning.
