China Considers Two Plans to Cut Mobile Roaming Fees
BEIJING -(Dow Jones)- China's economic planning agency and information ministry are considering two plans to reduce roaming fees for the country's mobile phone users, the official Xinhua News Agency reported Friday.
Under the two plans, roaming fees would fall by between 13.3% and 80%, Xinhua said.
The National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Information Industry will hold a public hearing on Jan. 22 to discuss the two plans, Xinhua said.
China's mobile phone market is dominated by China Mobile and smaller rival China Unicom.
