Vodafone Investigating Albanian SMS Billing Complaints
Vodafone Albania is holding an internal investigation following complaints that customers were sometimes charged up to five times for SMS messages sent on New Years Eve. There have been complaints in the local media over the past few days alleging the overcharging occurred.
"If it is found out that multiple messages were wrongly sent, clients will be notified and reimbursed," the company said in a statement.
Vodafone's decision comes after the government filed an official complaint, calling for an investigation into claims of billing irregularities during the holiday period.
A similar complaint has also been filed with incumbent operator, AMC - although the company says that it has not found any problems with its billing platform.
